bad attitudes. dude, if you hate your job that much perhaps renting cars isn't for you.
The manager refused to reverse the charges claiming that it was my fault they were not able to rent the vehicle for those 3 days and I would have to eat the charges because they lost money for every day they could not rent the vehicle. I filed a dispute with Capital One reversed the charges and refunded my money.
These guys are crooks -- I've never had such a terrible experience renting a car. Rented a Jeep Patriot for 2 weeks. Made a point of returning with a full tank, even though we received it with a quarter. Returned a day early, leaving keys in the after hours drop off box. A week later we are charged hundreds in extra fees, including over $100 in fuel and an extra day. Even at their exorbitant rates that's over 10 gallons of fuel. I topped it off a quarter mile from the place with receipts to prove it. Local office told us to call corporate. Corporate removed charges only to add an extra EZ-Pass fee. We never used their overpriced pass. No resolution over a week later. Disputing with credit card company. Stay far, far away from this place. I have rented cars dozens of times in my life and they are criminals.
3 Days after returning the vehicle I received a phone call saying that I never gave the keys back and I would be charged for 3 additional rental days, and for every additional day they do not receive the keys. Went back and fourth on the phone for a while and after hanging up I checked my card statement to see that I had actually already been charged a day before the phone call. I left work to visit the location in person to dispute their claim that the keys were never returned, after having several associates examine the drop box with me they discovered the car keys were stuck in the shoot and never dropped completely into the bucket, they were there the whole time.
I needed to return the car on Sunday outside of their normal business hours, the man who I can only assume manages this location said that returns outside of business hours were fine and I just needed to leave the car keys in the drop box near the door... which I did.
EDIT: Over two weeks later $200 more in charges appear on my credit card. Called owner before I wrote this review despite his genetic response. He said, and I'm paraphrasing, "We can't do anything. You have to call corporate."
We had a really good experience here. The car was clean and did not smell of cigarette smoke, which is a problem I've experienced elsewhere. The pick up and the drop off were trouble-free. The hours of operation are convenient. We'll definitely use them again!
By far the worst rental experience I've ever had. I rent from Budget regularly for work but typically from an Airport location, unfortunately I needed a full size SUV on a busy weekend and this was the closest location that had anything available.
